Inside Pitcairn Island
Pitcairn Island has fascinated me for years. And this was long before the above scandal broke. Pitcairn Island is a tiny island between New Zealand and Chile. And for those of you who know your geography - New Zealand and Chile are f*cking far apart.
After spending quite some time, trying to find someone who has actually BEEN to Pitcairn Island, I finally hit the jackpot. Photographer, Rhiannon Adam had spent some time there.
Rhiannon shares how she went with an open mind and to assist showing a different side of Pitcairn but was unfortunately met with suspicion, rumours and hostility. Rhiannon shares her experience of making some friends on the island but at times feeling like it was a prison sentence and extreme bouts of loneliness.
Check out Rhiannon’s time at Pitcairn Island here on her blog.
Pitcairn Island is a foreign British colony and has a population of 37 - 50 people. And in 2004, a third of the male population of the Island were put on trial for sexually harassing children. Pretty messed up.
Rhiannon rocked up there and shared her very memorable and grim time on the island.
Look - all you gotta do is listen, like, subscribe, tell your friends and maybe skip Pitcairn on your bucket list.
